Graduation Day: Students jump straight into jobs

Asuria Training graduates holding their certificates

It was a special day for the students of Asuria Training Tasmania’s newest class of graduates.

Having recently completed their Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), several graduates shared that they had already secured employment in their chosen field.

Asuria Training’ VET Lead Kerrie Cooke shared her pride in trainer Sheril Harris and her students who worked tirelessly on their program that focuses on caring for those living with a disability both in residential facilities and within the home.

Kerrie also shared that the students deserved their graduation celebration after investing so much during their 12 months of study.

“Our graduates should be really proud of themselves – they’ve been working hard to ensure they’re qualified to help others. Our Trainer Sheril Harris is passionate about the learning journey Asuria Training provides to our students.

“The practical component of the program also allows us to utilise our wide network of employers to ensure our graduates are gaining the best experience, and thanks goes out to those facilities that partner with Asuria Training and engage our students,” Kerrie said.

The outcomes reflected the high standard of students that undertook their training with Asuria Training, with 13 students securing employment.

Of those students, 11 were employed within their placement providers, while another two gained employment externally.

Kerrie also highlighted the importance of Asuria Training’s end-to-end services for students, ensuring they had access to assistance from their first encounter through to being placed in employment with the support and guidance or qualified training experts.

Asuria Training would like to thank our dedicated trainers as well as our Community Network Partners for facilitating placements and employment.

Congratulations to our students – we wish them the best of luck in their future careers.
