Youth Jobs PaTH - Block 1 Course

Assessments are made against units of competency.
  • Use strategies to respond to routine workplace problems (FSKLRG09)
  • Interact effectively with others at work (FSKOCM07)
  • Contribute to health and safety of self and others (BSBWHS201)

Over three weeks participants will work in a team to develop, manage, complete and review a project with the purpose of making a contribution to the local community. This project will be managed from conception, through to completion by the participants, which will allow them to learn and apply the 10 Core Skills for Work.

The delivery of this training will be based around a work like environment, with participants entering into a training agreement with written expectations like those in an employment contract. All participants will be expected to be on time, dress appropriately and work in a team to develop the position descriptions, accountability structures and work protocols for the completion of the project.

During this project participants will also undertake training in two nationally accredited units of competency from the Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways;
• FSKOCM07 – Interact effectively with others at work
• FSKLRG09 – Use strategies to respond to routine workplace problems
• Plus an optional industry specific accredited unit relevant to the required skills for the project selected
